University of Wales, Newport

University of Wales, NewportInformation Security should be another human right. It should be offered freely and to every member of the public. Through my involvement in the e-Crime Steering Group I will be giving advice on how to effectively and proactively understand, analyze and tackle e-crime. I aim to see a better and safer Wales where organizations will be able to conduct their online business as securely as possible. I aim to see Wales setting the state of the art in tackling e-Crime and making the cyber-world a safer place for everyone.

The University of Wales, Newport is recognizing the importance of understanding the nature of the different types of e-Crime and raising the awareness of the public through education. We have invested a fair amount of resources developing our capabilities of collecting, analyzing and understanding threat data. We try to understand not only e-Crime, but also the people behind it: the cyber-criminals and the victims. We aim to be able to offer advice on the threat agents that are active in the Welsh cyber-space, and we are proud to be able to do so through the e-Crime Steering Group.
